Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA recently following cancer treatment since 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
