Los Blancos' Alexander-Arnold Could Play Against Liverpool in Upcoming European Fixture

The English defender during a match

Real Madrid acquired Trent Alexander-Arnold on a six-year agreement

The defender's recovery is advancing well, giving possibility that the Madrid defender may return soon enough to confront his former club Liverpool in the upcoming European encounter.

The English player sustained a hamstring injury during a match against Ligue 1 club Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold exited the pitch in the fifth minute, with early estimates indicating a possible absence of up to a month and a half.

Real Madrid will travel to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the European match—exactly over a month since the injury happened.

Sources familiar with the player's condition indicate that the defender's recovery is advancing positively, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold might make his first return to Anfield after signing for Real Madrid in June.

A lifelong Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously remarked that departing from the team he entered as a young academy talent was the "most difficult choice he has ever made."

During his time with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold notched 354 appearances, helping win multiple English top-flight titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Since moving to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played five times across all competitions, accumulating 156 minutes of playing time.
