Paceman Gus Atkinson Adds to England's Fitness Concerns.
'Major setback' for the English camp as Atkinson leaves the field due to a hamstring issue.
Gus Atkinson added to England's injury problems upon exiting the field on the second morning of the fourth Ashes Test in the Ashes series.
The pace bowler pulled up with his left hamstring immediately following a delivery that he bowled during the morning session.
The England team stated Atkinson felt some "soreness" and required time away from the action for further assessment "in the coming hours".
The final Test of the series at the SCG gets underway at the end of the week.
The visitors have already lost fast bowlers Mark Wood due to knee trouble and Jofra Archer to a side strain during this series.
Matthew Fisher was brought into the squad as cover for Wood.
Atkinson struggled during the first two matches, claiming a mere a handful of scalps.
He was dropped from the previous Test, only to be brought back for the Boxing Day match in the playing XI.
Surrey's Atkinson improved at the MCG, claiming a couple of wickets during the host's first knock, before adding 28 while batting being one of only three England players to reach double figures.
After bowling one over at the end of day one, he came back for the second day's play and had nightwatchman Scott Boland caught behind.
Yet, at the end of that over, he sent down a change of pace to the batsman and immediately felt for his hamstring.
The English bowler was brought back for the Boxing Day Test after being left out the previous Test.
