Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four major tournaments during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from her remaining competitions of the year as a result of a health issue that has affected her over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate before starting next year's training.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks during her first-round match versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu due to back discomfort that has been a concern during parts of the season.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 for the first time for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
