The New Animated Series' Introductory Sequence Selected the Incorrect Critical Role Song

The Mighty Nein, the newest animated adventure by the beloved role-playing group, unveiled an exciting opening credits. It showcases the beloved cast of misfits, outcasts, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while teasing at several agonizing personal histories for key figures such as the voice actor's mage Caleb, and another actor's warlock orc, Fjord.

All in all, the opening appears amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that something was missing in the song choice.

This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional song created by producer and singer the talented musician. It's a track from the official score of the same name, the second one put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a great sentimental choice, and I suspect that devotees of the sequel series will love its presence.

But for me, The series' opening doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that was part of the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by singer-songwriter Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it improved further when co-founder Sam Riegel added lyrics to the melody for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Featuring vocals from one actress, another performer, a co-star, as well as the writer, the song was memorable and fun. At the time, I hadn't even watched the second campaign yet, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my device. This track that excites you before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun.

The show's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" doesn't strike the right notes for me. It's a grand piece of music, but based on my understanding of the group, I feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched.

Of course, the creators has already said that the animated show will have some surprises and variations from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening appears as among these.

This animated adventure will be available to watch on Prime Video from November 19. For those eager before that, or want a head start to learn about the personas of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the actual play are available on the audio platform and YouTube.
