Two Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
