The visionary game developer, who helped create the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The celebrated video game developer lost his life when his car crashed and burst into flames on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, according to.

"This is a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and all those touched by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts stated.
